Commissioning me to make you a piece of furniture is a straight forward process.
Firstly, I like to visit you, the customer, to speak with you about the piece in question.
This meeting enables me to understand your requirements and preferences. It also allows me to see where the item(s) will live. In many cases, the existing furniture and surroundings will have an effect on the final design. During this initial visit, we can also discuss your budget range and the likely time frame for the furniture to be made.
I will then draw up some designs and confirm the likely costs. Up until this point, my services are free of charge.
Provided that you are happy to proceed, final designs, drawings and costings will be produced.
In general, I request a deposit of 50% of the total cost in order that materials can be ordered and a slot allocated within my production schedule. On larger projects, I usually request an interim payment part way through the build, with the balance being due on delivery/ completion.
The prices of pieces do vary dramatically, as each is unique. It is therefore difficult to give specific costs. As a guide however, below are some typical items with their likely costs.
Fitted wardrobes- From £800.00 per linear metre.
Coffee tables- From £400.00
Dining tables- From £850.00
Currently, I do not charge VAT for my labour.
